Pasta is one of my favorite meals, but more often than not, it has made me gain more weight than I would like. This is what I would do: pour white pasta into the pot without measuring it, shred too much cheese, mix salted butter and often whole milk in with all of that cheese, then eat the whole batch. I used to do that almost every day– a terrible choice, but something I saw as a daily routine. Over time (not too much time, as I have a slow metabolism), I started to gain weight, and I had problems with constipation more than once a week. I cut out pasta for a while, and that helped, but I missed it. I still loved its taste, despite the effects it was having on me, and it didn’t seem that inherently bad. I figured there had to be a better way.
